GOLF CARTS / BUGGIES

For Round 1 of the Championships, to be played at Gold Creek Country Club, in accordance with Clause 7.2 of the APGC Constitution, all players will be afforded the use of motorised carts.

For all remaining fixtures only those players with eligibility, as outlined in Clause 7.1 of the APGC Constitution, i.e. those who are 65 years of age or older and/or those in possession of a medical certificate that supports the use of a cart, will be permitted to use motorised golf carts.

Proof of eligibility to use a motorised cart must be provided on demand.

Apart from Round 1 where carts will be provided free of charge to all users, a fee of  $50 will be payable at registration for those requiring a cart for the remaining rounds.

.

For those not providing their own pull buggy there will be an ample supply available for hire at each venue at the relevant club hire rate.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

Due to the prolonged drought in the ACT and imposed water restrictions, a number of local courses have suffered severely.  The courses chosen for the 2008 Championships have in the opinion of the Organising Committee the potential to be the best available in the district for the conduct of the Championships but certain local rules may apply and it is the responsibility of all players to check and abide by any such rules.

Spiked golf shoes and mobile phones are not permitted on the Courses chosen and the wearing of proper golf attire is mandatory at each venue.

 CLUB TRANSPORT AND SECURITY

The Host Club will provide security of golfing equipment over the week and transport that equipment between venues for those wishing this service.  Equipment can be handed over to the host club for security and transportation from 1.30pm onwards on 9 March 2008 at the Ainslie Function Centre or at any venue location thereafter.  Players will be expected to retain possession of their equipment after completing their round at Queanbeyan on 14 March.
