In addition to the opportunity for players’ spouses and partners to attend the opening function and presentation dinner the following program has been arranged for partners interested in undertaking local tours and a cruise, with luncheons provided, on Tuesday 11 and Thursday 13 March.
It should be noted that Monday 10 March 2008 will be a Public Holiday in the ACT and that Wednesday 12 March is Canberra’s official birthday. There will be an abundance of Community organised activities taking place to entertain visitors to the region over that week.

The Canberra Region Winery Tour
On Tuesday 11 March, partners will be picked up by coach and driven to the north of Canberra where they will visit iconic Federation Square which includes the National Dinosaur Museum
and Cockington Green, the miniature English village. Opportunities for shopping at Federation Square also includes plenty of venues for a relaxing coffee or tea.
The group will then be taken to the unique rural venue of the Poachers Pantry where they can spoil their taste buds with a tasting of the range of gourmet smoked meat, poultry and
vegetables. The group will be able to indulge in the wonderful combination of the food and wine in a beautiful countryside location.
The Group will then be driven to Murrumbateman where they will visit Clonakilla Winery and Doonkuna Estate Winery where they will be able to sample a range of regional wines and purchase from the cellar door.

The Canberra Cruise
Today partners will enjoy a one hour cruise of Lake Burley Griffin on board HMV Southern Cross. The cruise includes a stop at Government House and organised tour of the Governor General’s gardens before returning to the Canberra Yacht Club for lunch.
Following lunch a coach tour of some of the more ornate embassies, the National Art Gallery and Old Parliament house will take place. Partners will be provided the opportunity to walk between the National Gallery, the High Court and Questacon before returning to the Canberra City area.
