Handicaps

It is a requirement of all players to put the correct handicap on their scorecards. If member has an AGU handciap they must play to this handicap. Each state is required to supply state handicaps prior to the event. AGU handicpas will also be randomly checked and disqualification will occur if the an incorrect handicap is entered.

 

Course Requirements

Most courses now use grey water. Participants are reminded to avoid placing objects that have come into contact with the playing surface in their mouth.

 

Golf carts/golf buggies:

Carts will be provided at Bonville Golf Club. Pull buggies will be availabe at Coffs Harbour.

There is a limited number of electric carts, and are only available to participants aged 65 plus or those with a medical certificate. Proof of eligibility must be provided if and when requested. Those using motorised carts are required to pay for there use

 

Dress Code:

The dress standard at all courses is expected to be neat. Denim pants are not permitted. Shirts are to be open neck, with collar. Shirts are to be tucked in at all times. Socks, long or short are permitted, but must be white in colour.

Participants will all be provided with a championship shirt at the time of registration.

Metal spikes are not permitted to be worn on both courses.

 

Mobile Phones:

Mobile Phones are to be switched off on all golf courses. This ruling may be waived in the event of an emergency.

 

Disputes:

The Match Committee shall receive and arbitrate on all rules disputes. If a player on course cannot reach an agreement, the ball in dispute and a second ball shall be played until both balls have been holed out with both scores being recorded. A decision as to which score is to apply is to be sought from the Match Committee before the result is calculated and card submitted.

 

Scorecards:

While prompt submission of scorecards is required, before doing so please ensure your card is accurately completed, bearing the required signatures and displaying your correct handicap.

 

Play-offs:

Ties after 54 holes in the A, B and C Grades Championship Gross Event will be decided by a sudden death play-off on the 18th hole at the Bonville Golf Club. All other tied scores will be decided on countback.

 

Slow Play

Course Marshals will patrol the courses on a daily basis. Ball spotters will be deployed at specific locations around both courses. To ensure that playing groups do not fall behind please remember-

 

• Don’t wait for your playing partner to finish their setup before you get your club out, be ready to hit off immediately after them,
• Read your putts while others are putting so you are ready to hit, Park your cart/buggies at the back of the green and not at the front,
• Slow players will be warned and may have penalties applied if they do not keep up.

 

Local Rules

Participants are reminded to make themselves aware of any local rules prior to tee off.

 

Distance-Measuring Devices

A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. However, if, during a stipulated round a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (eg, gradient, windspeed, temperature, etc), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.
