THURSDAY 25 MARCH 2010 -  BELLINGEN AND THE DORRIGO PLATEAU

Depart at 9.00am from Opal Cove Resort

You will head for picturesque Bellingen for a morning peruse of some quaint boutique stores at the “Old Butter Factory.

From here we move into “town” for some more “shopping therapy”. Mid morning we leave (sob) Bellingen behind us and head for “them thar hills”. A beautiful scenic drive up the Bellinger Valley takes us to the world heritage listed Dorrigo National Park. Up on the plateau we explore some unusual and scenic areas. First stop is the beautiful Dangar Falls and the unusual Lava Tree. A story to be told here!!.

We have lunch at the historic Dorrigo Hotel.

In the afternoon we visit the National Park Canopy Tree Walk with fantastic views over the Great Dividing Range. Mid afternoon it’s back down the mountain (and again back to the Opal Cove Resort).
