LOCAL RULES & DRESS RULES

COURSE/DRESS REQUIREMENTS:

Due to the prolonged drought in Western Australia, a number of local courses have suffered. For this reason, the courses chosen for the 2012 Championships are the best available in the district for the conduct of the Championships but certain local rules may apply and it is the responsibility of all players to check and abide by any such rules.

Metal Spiked golf shoes are not permitted on the Courses chosen and the wearing of proper golf attire is mandatory at each venue. Polo shirts must be tucked in AT ALL TIMES when on course and in the club house. Under no circumstances are any denim or pull/draw string shorts or trousers permitted. All shirts must have short or long sleeves and a colar. Joggers are not permitted on course or in the club house.

MOBILE PHONES:

The use of mobile phones is restricted to Emergency Use only when on course and competing in the daily event. Local rules in relation to mobiles phones must be abided by at each respective golf course.

CLUB TRANSPORT AND SECURITY:

The Host Club will provide security of golfing equipment over the week and transport that equipment between venues for those wishing this service. Equipment can be handed over to the host club for security and transportation from 1.00pm onwards on 11 March 2012 at the Burswood Convention Centre or at any venue location thereafter. Players will be expected to retain possession of their equipment after completing their last round at The Vines.

DISPUTES:

The Match Committee shall receive and arbitrate on all rules disputes. If a player on course cannot reach an agreement, the ball in dispute and a second ball shall be played until both balls have been holed out with both scores being recorded. A decision as to which score is to apply is to be sought from the Match Committee before the result is calculated and card submitted.

SCORECARDS:

While prompt submission of scorecards is required, before doing so please ensure your card is accurately completed, bearing the required signatures and displaying your correct handicap.

PLAY-OFFS:

Ties after 54 holes in the A, B and C Grades Championship Gross Event will be decided by a sudden death play-off on the 18th hole at The Vines. All other tied scores will be decided on count-back.

SLOW PLAY:

Course Marshals will patrol the courses on a daily basis. Ball spotters will be deployed at specific locations around both courses if required. To ensure that playing groups do not fall behind please remember:-

  • Don’t wait for your playing partner to finish their setup before you get your club out, be ready to hit off immediately after them,
  • Read your putts while others are putting so you are ready to hit,
  • When on/near the green, park your cart/buggies on the path or near the exit point to the next tee and not at the front,
  • Slow players will be warned and may have penalties applied if they do not keep up.

LOCAL RULES:

Participants are reminded to make themselves aware of any local rules prior to tee off.

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES:

A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. However, if, during a stipulated round a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (eg, gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used. Mobile phones being used as distance measuring devices must be switched to "flight mode".

PLAYER TRANSPORTATION:

The Committee is looking at supplying bus transport from the recommended accommodation of The Esplanade (South Perth), Kings Hotel and the Burswood. This will be dependant on numbers to ensure viability of the busses. Other than those venues, all players will be responsible in arranging their own transport to and from the functions and games.

PARTNER TRANSPORTATION:

Transportation will be supplied for partners to and from their mid-week tours. Departure/return points are to be finalised but will probably be from and to the recommended accommodation venues, depending on numbers.

PLAYER TRANSPORTATION:

Due to insufficient numbers requiring bus transportation, all players will be responsible in arranging their own transport to and from the games.
